Irradiation‑Crosslinked Low‑Smoke, Halogen‑Free Flame‑Retardant Polyolefin Insulation Compound

Category: Low‑Smoke, Halogen‑Free Polyolefin Cable Compound Series

Irradiation‑crosslinked low‑smoke, halogen‑free, flame‑retardant polyolefin insulation material is an insulating material used in power cables and optical cables. It is produced by irradiating a polyolefin base material to induce crosslinking, thereby stabilizing and homogenizing its molecular structure. Processed through irradiation crosslinking, this material also boasts low smoke, halogen‑free, and flame‑retardant properties. In the event of a fire, it can significantly reduce the generation of smoke and harmful gases, safeguarding human life. At the same time, it offers excellent insulation performance, effectively isolating electrical current and preventing leakage and short circuits in electrical equipment. This product is suitable for insulation protection in cables, wire harnesses, and electrical devices across fields such as power, electronics, and communications, enhancing both the safety and reliability of these products.

Product Details

Irradiation‑crosslinked low‑smoke, halogen‑free flame‑retardant polyolefin cable compound is made from polyolefin resin as the base material, combined with high‑quality, highly effective halogen‑free flame retardants, crosslinking agents, and other processing aids, and produced through compounding, plasticization, and pelletizing. It not only boasts excellent mechanical and physical properties, electrical performance, flame‑retardant characteristics, and processing performance, but also offers advantages such as being halogen‑free and producing low smoke levels.
It can be widely used in power cables, communication cables, control cables, marine cables, optical cables, signal cables, locomotive cables, and more. The long‑term operating temperature ranges from 90 to 150°C, and the compound can be formulated to withstand dual oil resistance. The hardness can be adjusted between 85 and 95A according to customer requirements. The recommended irradiation dose is 10–15 Mrad, with the specific processing parameters determined based on the requirement that the cable’s performance meets the specified standards.
